Yoel Cubillas claims Salvadorean Liga MB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Cuban Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best San Salvador BC and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 43 points and 17 rebounds, while his team outclassed Santiagueno (#10, 2-12) with 31-point margin 105-74. San Salvador maintains the 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They are still close to the very top. San Salvador would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-2 record. In the team's last game Cubillas had a remarkable 74.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be San Salvador's top player in his first season with the team. Cubillas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 24.8ppg), rebounds (4th best: 15.4rpg) and averages solid 2.3bpg,2.6spg and 69.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Guatemalan point guard Lee Vasquez (173-PG) of MC El Brasil Santa Ana. Vasquez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 52 points and 11 assists. Of course Santa Ana cruised to a 115-105 relatively comfortable win over Brujos (#11, 0-14). Santa Ana's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Vasquez is a newcomer at Santa Ana and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.4rpg and 6.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Santa Ana's star - Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-F-1991). Zambrana got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for twenty nine rebounds and eleven assists. He was another key player of MC El Brasil Santa Ana, helping his team with a 115-105 win against Brujos (#11, 0-14). The chances of Santa Ana ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zambrana could help Santa Ana to bring them higher in the standings. Zambrana has a great season in El Salvador. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.8ppg (8th best), rebounds with 21.3rpg (2nd best) and assists with 8.1apg (best passer).
